Cobolli Conquers Acapulco: First Title on Hard Court

Flavio Cobolli defeated Frances Tiafoe 7-6(4), 6-4 in two hours and eight minutes in the ATP 500 Acapulco final, claiming his third career title and first on hard court.

The 23-year-old Roman closed out the match with 33 winners and 10 aces, dominating in the crucial moments of the first-set tiebreak and breaking serve in the second. Cobolli becomes the fourth player born after 2000 to win ATP 500 titles on multiple surfaces, after Alcaraz, Sinner and Fils, and the youngest Acapulco champion since Thiem in 2016.

With this victory, Cobolli reaches a new career-high ranking of world No. 15, confirming a steady rise that places him firmly in the top 20. Tiafoe, who was chasing his first 500-level title, fought hard in the first set but could not contain the Italian's push in the second, where Cobolli raised his level on serve and conceded almost nothing.
