Nick Kyrgios defeated Corentin Moutet 6-3, 6-4 in one hour and nine minutes at the BOSS Open in Stuttgart, the ATP 250 on German grass, without conceding a single break point in the entire match. It is the Australian's first tour-level win since March 2025, after five months away from the courts.

At thirty, and with a history of injuries that has limited him to a handful of matches since 2023, Kyrgios returned on the surface that has always brought out the best in his game. He had not played a match on grass since 2022, the year of the Wimbledon final he lost to Djokovic. His last singles appearance dated back to the Brisbane International in January, a first-round loss to Aleksandar Kovacevic.

Against an awkward and unpredictable opponent like Moutet, it was the serve that made the difference. Kyrgios held serve with authority throughout the match, never giving the Frenchman the chance of a break point and wrapping things up in little more than an hour.
