Next Gen ATP Finals in Reggio Calabria: Official, Set for December 9-13

The ATP has confirmed Reggio Calabria as the host of the 2026 Next Gen ATP Finals: five days at the PalaCalafiore, from December 9 to 13, with two million dollars in prize money. The announcement came from New York, on the sidelines of the US Open, at a press conference with FITP president Angelo Binaghi and Calabria region president Roberto Occhiuto.

The tournament features the circuit's eight best under-20 players, split into two round-robin groups with semifinals and a final, and uses the experimental format that has made the event so recognizable: best-of-five-set matches, sets to four games, tie-break at 3-3. Born in Milan in 2017 and based there through 2022, the tournament then moved to Jeddah for three editions. It now returns to Italy after four years.

The roll of honor includes Jannik Sinner, winner in 2019, Carlos Alcaraz in 2021, João Fonseca in 2024, and Learner Tien, who lifted the trophy in Jeddah last December.

"If Italy is the country of tennis today, it's because it had the courage to invest in the future before others did,"

said Binaghi, adding that

"another piece of world tennis history will pass through Reggio Calabria."

Occhiuto framed the move above all as territorial and tourism promotion for a region on the rise.

After Rome, Turin and Bologna, the map of major Italian tennis events extends into Calabria. The PalaCalafiore has undergone renovation work ahead of the event: the adjacent facility will serve as the training area, and Circolo Polimeni as the logistics base.
