🇨🇿 Noskova Beats Muchova And Claims Her First Slam

Linda Noskova beat Karolina Muchova 6-2 5-7 6-3 and, at 21, claimed the first Slam of her career, in the first all-Czech derby ever staged in a women's final. In the second set she had held five match points and watched them vanish one after another, before closing it out on her sixth attempt with a service winner and letting herself sink onto the grass. She is the third Czech in four years to win here, after Vondrousova and Krejcikova, and hers no longer looks like an isolated triumph so much as the sign of a movement that keeps producing. In her closing speech her thoughts turned to her mother, who passed away two years ago, and it was there that a day of tennis stopped, for a moment, being only tennis.

🇫🇮 Heliovaara And Patten Champions In Doubles Once Again

Harri Heliovaara and Henry Patten won the men's doubles final, beating Arevalo and Pavic 7-6(4) 7-6(3), two tie-breaks and not a set dropped for their second title won here together. They are the first pair to win more than once at Wimbledon since the Bryan brothers, a detail that shows how rare it is, in today's doubles, to string together consistency and victories under the same names. Matches decided on the fine margins like this one often say more than the scoreline, with the two finding their best answers in exactly the moments when the set could have slipped away.

🇱🇻 Ostapenko And Arevalo Come Back To Win The Mixed Doubles

In the mixed doubles, Jelena Ostapenko and Marcelo Arevalo came back to beat Marc Polmans and Storm Hunter 4-6 7-5 6-2, recovering from a set and a break down. For Arevalo it's the second act of a two-sided fortnight, the mixed doubles title after the final lost in the men's doubles, two opposite outcomes at the same tournament. More than the comeback itself, what stands out is the composure with which the pair turned the momentum around when the match seemed already settled.

WHAT'S HAPPENING TODAY:

Sinner vs Zverev — men's final (from 17:00 Italian time, Centre Court) - Sinner defends the title as world number one and looks to string together two Wimbledons in a row; Zverev arrives as Roland Garros champion and chases a Channel Slam that no German man has ever won. The head-to-head reads 10-4 for Sinner, with nine straight wins, but it's their first meeting on grass and a Slam final often carries a different gravity from everything that came before it.
Women's doubles final (Centre Court) - Guo and Mladenovic, the number 10 seeds, take on Dabrowski and Stefani, the number 2 seeds and each with an Olympic bronze to their name: it opens the schedule on the main court and sets the stage for the day's final act.
