Record-Breaking Roland Garros: 727,000 Spectators in Paris

Roland Garros 2026 closed with the largest crowd in its history: more than 727,000 spectators passed through the gates of Paris over the tournament's two weeks, a new record for the event. The announcement came from director Amélie Mauresmo, in her customary review at the closing press conference of the event.

"In many respects, this 2026 edition was a success. A tournament full of surprises and emotions," said Mauresmo, speaking of an edition that tested the organization between the weather and scheduling constraints, but which in the end lived up to expectations. Among the figures cited were the 138,000 first-week spectators who got in on tickets under 30 euros, a sign of an accessibility policy the tournament says it intends to keep pursuing.

On the sporting side, the edition will also be remembered for the number of five-set battles: 31 in total before the men's final, a figure that shows just how hard-fought the draw was right from the early rounds. More than 600,000 euros were also raised for charity between the evening dedicated to Gaël Monfils and Yannick Noah Day.

What remains is the image of a tournament that is growing in the stands while it changes on court, with a new generation taking center stage. The attendance figure, more than anything else, says that Roland Garros keeps widening its reach, year after year.
