WHAT HAPPENED OVERNIGHT:

๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น Sinner Makes Masters 1000 History

Jannik Sinner beat Corentin Moutet 6-1, 6-4 in one hour and eleven minutes, extending his streak of consecutive sets won at Masters 1000 to 26 and surpassing the record that belonged to Novak Djokovic, who had reached 24. With 87% of first serve points won and a clear advantage in winners, the match never truly felt in doubt.

The feeling, more than pure dominance, is of a player who right now manages every situation with a naturalness that makes it hard for opponents to find any grip. The streak started in Paris-Bercy in November and has carried through Indian Wells without interruption, which speaks not only to the quality of his tennis but to the mental consistency that has defined this phase of the season.

๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡ท Cerundolo Crushes Medvedev In The First Set, Then Holds On

Francisco Cerundolo beat Daniil Medvedev 6-0, 4-6, 7-5 in a match that contained at least two different matches within it. The first set flew by in a matter of minutes, with Medvedev producing a string of unforced errors that would eventually total forty-one, a number that says a lot about the Russian's struggles to adapt to these conditions.

What stands out is that Medvedev had arrived in Miami riding high after ending Alcaraz's perfect streak at Indian Wells. The speed at which levels can fluctuate at this point of the season is something that affects everyone, but in Medvedev's case it seems amplified in slower conditions.

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Tiafoe Saves Two Match Points And Becomes The Second American To Reach 250 Wins

Frances Tiafoe beat defending champion Jakub Mensik 7-6(4), 4-6, 7-6(11) in two hours and fifty-one minutes, saving two match points in the third-set tiebreak at 8-7 and 10-9 before closing it out on his seventh match point. A tiebreak of thirteen points to eleven that had at least six moments where the match could have gone differently.

With this victory, Tiafoe reaches 250 tour-level wins, the second active American after Fritz to hit this milestone. Beyond the number, matches like these speak to the ability to stay in a match that seems lost, and to find one more shot when it truly matters.

๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡พ Sabalenka Into The Quarters Without Much Trouble, Gauff Comes Back Against Cirstea

Aryna Sabalenka beat Zheng Qinwen 6-3, 6-4 in one hour and twenty-five minutes, confirming her dominance in the head-to-head which rises to 8-1. A 20-1 record in 2026 and fifteen consecutive WTA quarterfinals say something about the consistency she is maintaining this season.

Coco Gauff beat Sorana Cirstea 6-4, 3-6, 6-2, reaching her first career quarterfinal in Miami. In the third set she held all her service games, closing with an authority that isn't always seen from her in decisive moments. In the quarters she will face Belinda Bencic, who dispatched Amanda Anisimova 6-2, 6-2.

๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ Mboko Beats Andreeva In The Third Chapter Of Their Rivalry

Victoria Mboko beat Mirra Andreeva 7-6(4), 4-6, 6-0, taking a 2-1 lead in the season rivalry between the two youngest players in the top 20. The 6-0 third set, after two balanced sets, speaks to a moment where Mboko found a level that Andreeva simply could not sustain.

Karolina Muchova closed out Alexandra Eala 6-0, 6-2, and in the quarters will face Mboko in a rematch of the Doha final in February. Elena Rybakina eliminated Talia Gibson 6-2, 6-2, continuing a tournament in which she has yet to drop a set, and Jessica Pegula beat Jaqueline Cristian 6-4, 6-1.

WHAT'S ON TODAY:

  • Sinner vs Michelsen (not before 4:00 PM local, 10:00 PM CET) โ€” Round of 16 for Jannik against the young American. Michelsen beat Tabilo in the previous round and brings an aggressive game that could cause some headaches, but Sinner's current level seems to be in a different league.
  • Fritz vs Lehecka (Center Court, 12:00 PM local, 6:00 PM CET) โ€” Sixth seed versus the twenty-first, in a round of 16 that on paper could be one of the most competitive of the day. Fritz arrives strong after winning 94% of first serve points against Opelka, Lehecka eliminated Quinn after a tough tiebreak.
  • Korda vs Landaluce (Grandstand, 11:00 AM local, 5:00 PM CET) โ€” After the upset against Alcaraz, Korda faces the young Spanish qualifier. Landaluce eliminated Khachanov and has nothing to lose.
  • Cerundolo vs Humbert โ€” The Argentine who demolished Medvedev against the in-form Frenchman. A round of 16 between two players who aren't favorites but are both riding a good run of form.
  • Zverev vs Halys (not before 8:30 PM local, 2:30 AM CET) โ€” Zverev struggled more than expected against Cilic, dropping the second set. Halys fired 15 aces against Majchrzak and could be a tricky opponent.
  • Muchova vs Mboko (Center Court, 1:00 PM local, 7:00 PM CET) โ€” WTA quarterfinals, a rematch of the Doha final. Mboko arrives after the 6-0 third set against Andreeva, Muchova after a 6-0, 6-2 win over Eala. A match that promises quality.
  • Gauff vs Bencic (not before 7:00 PM local, 1:00 AM CET) โ€” First quarterfinal in Miami for Gauff, against a Bencic who gave nothing away to Anisimova. The hometown favorite starts as the favorite, but Bencic on her day can be dangerous.
