🇧🇾 Sabalenka In The Final For The Third Time In Four Years

Aryna Sabalenka defeated Linda Noskova 6-3, 6-4 in the first semifinal of the day, wrapping things up in less than ninety minutes with eleven aces and thirty-seven winners. Noskova, in her first career semifinal at Indian Wells, was never able to find answers to the Belarusian's serve, failing to convert her only break point at 8-7 in the second set, when Sabalenka responded with an ace.

What stands out is the sense of control Sabalenka has been able to project throughout this tournament, where she hasn't dropped a set. Beyond the power, which remains her trademark, there's a management of key moments that didn't always belong to her in the past. In the final she'll face Rybakina again, who handed her the last two defeats at the WTA Finals and the Australian Open: a detail that Sabalenka herself has made no secret of wanting to reverse.

🇰🇿 Rybakina Ends Svitolina's Run And Books The Rematch

Elena Rybakina defeated Elina Svitolina 7-5, 6-4, ending the Ukrainian's winning streak that came off her victory over Swiatek. The first set was more contested than the score suggests: Rybakina had a break advantage at 5-2, gave it back, but found the decisive moment at 5-5, when Svitolina double-faulted on game point. In the second set the Kazakh's serve made the difference, with a first-serve percentage that approached 80%.

Sunday's final between Sabalenka and Rybakina has the feel of a showdown, with the head-to-head at 8-7 in the Belarusian's favor but the last two encounters won by the Kazakh. For Svitolina, despite the elimination, it confirms a 2026 season that sees her among the most consistent players on tour, with nineteen wins and a semifinal reached after eliminating the world number two.

WHAT'S HAPPENING TODAY:

• Sinner vs Zverev (Stadium 1, not before 1:30 PM local / 9:30 PM CET) - The most anticipated semifinal of the tournament. Sinner is seeking his first Indian Wells final to complete the collection of all hardcourt Masters 1000 titles, a feat only achieved by Federer and Djokovic so far. He hasn't dropped a set in the tournament and leads the head-to-head 6-4, with five consecutive wins over Zverev. The German, however, is in his first desert semifinal and arrives after dispatching Tiafoe and Fils while conceding very little.
• Alcaraz vs Medvedev (Stadium 1, to follow, not before 3:00 PM local / 11:00 PM CET) - Third meeting at Indian Wells after the 2023 and 2024 finals, both won by Alcaraz. The Spaniard is unbeaten in 2026 with sixteen consecutive wins and two titles between Melbourne and Doha. Medvedev, however, arrives in a different form compared to previous editions: a title in Dubai, nine consecutive wins and the feeling of being able to compete on equal terms on a surface that's playing faster than usual this year.
• Sabalenka vs Rybakina (WTA Final, Sunday March 15) - The showdown between the two most dominant players on the women's tour. Head-to-head 8-7 in Sabalenka's favor, but Rybakina has won the last two meetings. A match that could define the first half of the WTA season.
